August at Liverpool Cathedral

August, we have been waiting for you…
Not only does August hopefully bring us some sunny weather, but it also continues an exciting time for creativity and art.
Being Human
If you are yet to see our latest exhibition ‘Being Human’ then it may be handy for you to know the complete exhibition is only here until the 30 August.
The four-part exhibition made up of Connection, Reflection, Identity and Creativity joined us last week and we know many of you have already enjoyed a visit, including the photo opportunity with the giant 9.5-meter-wide hands that make up ‘Connection’. The complete exhibition is free and open to all. Why not come find out more about what makes us human?
Summer Holiday Fun
If you're wanting to take a trip to see ‘Being Human’ with your children, then why not tie in a visit with our family activities? Our education team are offering free ‘Being Human’ themed craft activities for the whole family during August. Just make sure you book your space in advance. You can find out the dates here.
If you need to rest and refuel after all that fun, be sure to stop in at our Welsford Bistro to try our summer menu. You can even get your dose of Vitamin D by sitting outside on the Welsford Porch.
If you love history, why not book onto one of our Outside Tours, led by our head guide Brian? On this tour you will find many hidden creatures, symbols and seagoing vessels hidden in the intricate carvings of the Cathedral and learn more about the folk who built this architectural wonder over 74 years.
Fancy seeing the city from a different viewpoint? Why not take a trip up the tower, to enjoy a breath-taking 360˚ view from the rooftop of the highest cathedral in the UK! You will have to climb 108 stairs first though.
Reflection
August is often a month of rest and reflection for those looking for a break after a busy period. If you’re looking for a moment of peace and contemplation this month, why not join us for a service, or to pick up a prayer card? You can even enjoy a coffee while sitting in our main space. (Maybe just avoid our family activities times!)
Just a visit?
Even if you do not fancy any of our events or daily services, you're always welcome to visit us at any point during our opening hours, to see our wonderful building, light a candle, browse our Cathedral shop or get a bite to eat or cup of coffee from The Welsford Bistro.
