Choir Tour to Malta

In recent years the Cathedral Choir has traveled throughout the world giving performances at many prestigious venues, in its own right and with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
This year the destination is Malta. The choir will set off very early on Sunday morning, 17th February 2019 for a week away. They will sing four concerts, at St Lawrence, Vittoriosa, at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valetta, at St John the Baptist, Gozo and at St George’s Basilica, and also at the Sunday Eucharist in Valetta before their flight home the following week.
Alongside rehearsals and performances, the choristers will enjoy a mixed programme of sightseeing and other activities, to broaden their knowledge of the country they are visiting. They are encouraged to experience the local culture and language, which contributes to their general and musical education. The outings and trips planned alongside their music-making include Malta Maritime Museum, a cruise around Valetta Harbour, a tour of Gozo, and much more.
Canon Myles said “We are very grateful to the Francis Neilson Trust who have made the tour possible, and to all those who have worked hard and supported the tour by raising funds for us. We are also very grateful to the staff who have willingly given up their half term to make the tour a wonderful experience for all concerned.”
