Jump into July with Liverpool Cathedral

July marks the halfway point of 2022.

It's also the month that marks the start of 'Being Human', Liverpool Cathedral's latest exhibition from artist Peter Walker, which is made up of four installations: Connection, Reflection, Identity, and Creativity.

One of these installations, Connection, is inspired by the ‘Hand of God’ by Michelangelo and symbolises reconnection after the pandemic. Get your cameras ready to take and share some amazing photos of this 9.5-meter-wide artwork.

The complete exhibition arrives on 27th July, but if you fancy a visit to the Cathedral before then, here's what else you may like to know:

Celebrating Graduations

We're helping Liverpool John Moores University celebrate their graduations during July. This means that between Monday 4 - Friday 8 July, and Monday 11 - Friday 15 July,  Liverpool Cathedral will be closed to visitors. This includes The Shop, The Tower experience, and The Welsford Bistro. During this time, you will still be able to encounter the Lady Chapel for our worship services. You can find out more, here. If you are attending the graduation services, you will still be able to enter the Cathedral via the main entrance.

We are open as normal on Saturdays and Sundays during this time.

Support Local charities

Every Saturday this month we are hosting Abseils to raise money for some amazing charities. The 2021 Cathedral Abseil raised approximately £100,000 for 97 charities including Slow Down for Bobby, Marie Currie, and Alder Hey. Why not come down and cheer them on?

Expand your knowledge

Join us for the Jesus’ Hands – and Ours course. These in-person bible study sessions are designed to help us see love in action through the hands of Jesus.

Musical Experiences

On the 22 July you can hear Gussie Knopov (Mezzo Soprano) and Per Neilson (piano) at our Francis Neilson Lunchtime concert.

Family Fun

if you're looking for some way to entertain the kids this summer holiday why not book your place for our free 'Being Human' themed craft activities.

Once you’ve finished your session, why not treat yourself to a bite to eat and a drink in our Welsford Bistro? We have a new Summer Menu you can try out!

Just a visit?

Even if you do not fancy any of our events or services, you're always welcome to visit us at any point during our opening hours, to see our wonderful building, light a candle, browse our Cathedral shop or get a bite to eat or cup of coffee from The Welsford Bistro.
