June at Liverpool Cathedral

Struggling to find things to do this month? Check out what's happening at Liverpool Cathedral in June 2022...
June is Jubilee month and we are inviting you to celebrate with us!
On Thursday 2 June, we will begin the celebrations on the Rankin Porch steps, while our choir sings a special anthem composed for the Jubilee, and a beacon is lit.
On Sunday 5 June we will mark The Queens Platinum Jubilee with a Pentecost service in Partnership with The Met Cathedral. After returning to Liverpool Cathedral there will be a street party-style picnic to celebrate the occasion.
Feeling Creative?
Why not spend International Knit in Public Day 2022 with us.
On June 11th in conjunction with International Knit in Public Day, Liverpool Cathedral invites you to ‘Stitch in Public’. You can Knit, crochet, weave, sew, quilt, embroider, macrame, tapestry, cross-stitch, needlepoint, tatting, latch hook…. Whatever you prefer. Bring your own project to work on and spread creativity in the magnificent surroundings of the Cathedral’s Baptistry space.
Eager to learn?
Join us on Thursday 9 June 2022, for a lecture that will explore how the damaging decline of children’s welfare can be overturned.
You’re also warmly invited to attend a talk by Fiona Bruce, MP, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief on Saturday 11 June 2022.
On June 16 our The Old Testament bible study begins and runs every Thursday evening on Zoom - June to November 2022, 7.30-8.45pm.
You might want to enjoy some music this June?
The Cathedral has you covered, as you can join us for a variety of uplifting music on Fridays as part of our Francis Neilson Lunchtime concert series or every Sunday afternoon for the Summer 2022 Sunday Organ Recitals. These performances are free, but donations raised from the recital will go towards the choir tour fund.
If you want to experience the sun this month then don’t fret…
Join our amazing guides to hear stories of how Liverpool Cathedral came to be located on St James Mount, including how the architect was chosen, and where our stone came from, during one of our Outside Tours.
Or just enjoy your coffee from The Welsford porch to get your vitamin D.
We look forward to welcoming you this June!
