Match funding will double your donation until noon 8th December thanks to Bartletts Solicitors

Liverpool Cathedral has joined The Big Give for the first time this year with an ambitious target of £2,500 to raise from 1st December until noon 8th December with every penny matched by local solicitors, Bartletts up to £1,250.

Bartletts Solicitors have a longstanding history of philanthropy with Liverpool Cathedral; Thomas Bartlett, whose bequest enabled the casting and installation of our 13 bells, is a direct ancestor of the family owned and run business. Now 108 years on, Bartletts are again supporting us, and invite you to do the same this Christmas time.

In a year in which donations have fallen sharply due to Covid-19, Liverpool Cathedral is asking all those who lean on us in times of joy and sorrow to remember us in their seasonal philanthropy. Our first donation was made by Director of Fundraising, Rachael Atkinson-White who joined us in May.

"Being a local I thought I had a fair idea idea of the work that went on at Liverpool Cathedral, but since joining I realise how naive I was! The services, the pastoral support, the music and education outreach ... the list of good that every penny does goes on and on. The clergy and team have done incredible things throughout the pandemic to ensure that Liverpool Cathedral remains a place of encounter for all, and I felt like I had to support in my own small way.

"Using The Big Give platform was really easy. I donated £25, which Bartletts matched, and when including Gift Aid my donation suddenly became £56.25. This is a really great initiative and I thank you to everyone who is able to support us."

Every year it costs of £3.5 million to run Liverpool Cathedral, and we receive no regular local or government funding. We rely on the donations of worshippers and visitors to remain free of charge and open to all.
