Our main entrance is now open again

Good news, our roof repair works have now been completed.
Our main entrance was closed for two weeks from January 29th until February 8th to enable us to carry out maintenance work to the cathedral roof. The work is part of our continued investment in the fabric of the Grade 1 listed cathedral for the people of Liverpool and the wider region to enjoy.
We used the money we received from the WW1 Centenary Fund to invest in our cathedral roof preventing the concrete in it from damage.
Acting Dean Canon Myles Davies said before the work started “we apologise for the small amount of inconvenience this may cause. Maintaining a cathedral at the size and scale of Liverpool often throws up massive challenges and we have planned this work to cause the least possible inconvenience for visitors. By investing in our cathedral in this way we aim to make sure that we secure this precious building for future generations.”
