Welcome from Dean Sue
A very warm welcome to Liverpool Cathedral e-news. We continue to have a relatively quiet January, but next month we have some exciting events taking place not least, Space. You can find more details and a short film on the cathedral website to tell you more about Space.
On Sunday at 3pm we as a Cathedral Company will be worshiping at the Metropolitan Cathedral and our preacher is Sir Mark Hedley a member of the Cathedral Company so please do come and pray with us.
As we move forward please think about joining us for our Lent course. More details will be available in due course.
I shall be in preaching at St Michaels’ in the Hamlet this Sunday.

If you would like somebody to be remembered in the Cathedral’s regular prayers please email Verger Keith James at: vergers@liverpoolcathedral.org.uk The prayer list will begin anew every two months, so if you would like somebody to be prayed for by name over a longer period please remember to ask again.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Vespers
On Sunday 23rd January at 3pm join us at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King for Vespers led by both Cathedral Choirs, as we pray for Christian Unity.
Alpha On-line – starting Wednesday 26th January 2022, 7.30pm on Zoom

Epiphany Carol Service
On Sunday 30th January at 3pm we mark the end of the Christmas and Epiphany season, and the ongoing hope we have in Christ, the Light of the World, with a carol service led by the Cathedral Choir.
Stitching Group - ‘Encountering Common Threads’ - Next Session
When: 1st Wednesday of the month (most months) - next session: 2nd February
Time: 12.30—2.30pm
Where: The Radcliffe Learning Centre Liverpool Anglican Cathedral - access by stairs or lift
Who: Yarn & fabric stitchers of all abilities
Beginners to advanced — all welcome; stitch in the company of others, share skills, patterns, ideas and friendship.
Bring your own project to work on OR start one of ours.
Stay for the whole session or drop in for a while / in your lunch break.
Please bring your own refreshments OR take away options are available from the Cathedral’s Welsford Bistro.
You are welcome to attend the 12:05 Eucharistic Service and join us afterwards.
Accession Day
Sunday 6th February marks the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s Accession, the beginning of her Platinum Jubilee Year. The Bishop of Liverpool will preach at the 10:30am Sunday eucharist, with civic representatives in attendance. In the afternoon the Cathedral ringers will attempt a full peal in the Tower.
21st Century Particle Physics: discussions on Science and Faith
8th Feb, 7:30 pm
During the week of 7th February, hundreds of scientists will gather for a workshop to discuss the next large collider project at CERN, the Future Circular Collider (FCC). Spurred on by the workshop, this public outreach event, to be held in the cathedral, brings together particle physicists and theologians to discuss the role of physics, science and religion.
