Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 13th February 2022

Welcome from Dean Sue

A very warm welcome to this weeks e-news. In the Cathedral on Saturday Bishop Paul will lead his final service as Bishop of Liverpool. He will lay down his pastoral staff as he retires as Bishop of Liverpool.

I have only known Bishop Paul for a short time, but what I have experienced form him and Kate are two incredible people who have gone out of their way to be open and hospitable. They both have a huge amount of integrity and I as others will miss them. A Bishop to the Cathedral is a ‘visitor’ and Bishop Paul he has been an excellent ‘visitor’ to this Cathedral. He has been supportive of the Chapter and the mission and ministry of the Cathedral. He has been a true friend. As he and Kate leave the Diocese we wish them God’s blessing in retirement and may they enjoy a full and healthy retirement.

Loving God,

We thank you for the ministry of Bishop Paul in this place.

We give you thanks for the love and commitment Bishop Paul and his wife Kate have given to us as a Cathedral.

We thank you for Bishop Paul’s integrity, his wisdom and his faithfulness.

We now pray for your Blessing upon Bishop Paul and Kate as they journey on in the next stage of their lives.

Loving God,

Enfold them in your love, and fill them with your peace.

And we ask this through your Son Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen

Canon Ellen will be at Mossley Hill church on Sunday.
