Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 20th March 2022
Welcome from Dean Sue
Welcome to this weeks e-news. Two weeks of Lent have already passed us by and this week, the collect, which draws all our prayers together, talks about ‘walking the way of the cross.’ All of us at various times in our lives will have walked the way of the cross and faced pain and suffering, but this week my thoughts remain with the exiled people of Ukraine and those who have remained in Ukraine to fight the Russians.
The collect, however, goes on to say, ‘walking the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace’ may that be so for the displaced people of the Ukraine.
Almighty God,
whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain,
and entered not into glory before he was crucified:
mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross,
may find it none other than the way of life and peace;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Dr Sue Jones
Dean of Liverpool
