This week’s News from Liverpool Cathedral – a Place of Encounter

Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 22nd May 2022
A very warm welcome to this week’s e-news. This week our Gospel reading from John’s Gospel is set in the context of the Last Supper. In the reading, we hear the promise of Jesus that he will not leave us alone he will send the advocate to be our guide. Jesus also prays his peace on the disciples. Peace is so important in today’s world which is torn apart by violence. So As we pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit we also pray for peace.
Risen Lord Jesus,
you promised the gift of peace to your people.
Send your Holy Spirit into our hearts,
that we may share your peace
and lay aside all fear;
for you are the Prince of Peace,
today and forever.
Amen.
