Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 10th July 2022

Welcome from Dean Sue

Welcome to this week’s e-news. This week, we are encouraged by the Canon Theologian, to ask the question who is my neighbour? Our Gospel reading from Luke is the well-known story of the Good Samaritan. It is so well known that we often miss the point that at the time of Jesus for a Samaritan to do what he did was unthinkable. I wonder who those unthinkable neighbours are in our day? If you wish to know more about this week's theme, please follow the link here.

In preparation for next Sunday, we will be celebrating Consecration Sunday when we remember with thanksgiving the Consecration of the Cathedral and when we remember all who have worked to build this Cathedral and all those who continue to support it as a place of encounter. If you wish to explore next Sunday's Gospel reading during the week, please follow the link here.

Prayer for today

Lord Jesus Christ,
you teach your disciples
to follow the example of the good Samaritan.
Help us to respond to the needs of others,
with sensitivity, generosity and care,
that we may show your love to the world;
for you are our God.
Amen.

Micah Liverpool Foodbank
Micah Liverpool is requesting food donations as the current climate has put new pressures on our food banks and our food stocks are running low. Liverpool Cathedral has a donation point at the entrance aisle of the cathedral and the items we are most in need of are UHT Milk, Tinned fish, Breakfast Cereal, and tinned tomatoes
