Vintage American cars to line up at this year's Liverpool Cathedral Abseil
Vintage American cars will line up outside the cathedral as hundreds of daredevils abseil down the building for charity over three days.
The annual Abseil event has become one of the highlights of the cathedral’s community activity in which Individuals, businesses and organisations are given the chance to take on a 150ft free fall drop from the top of Liverpool Cathedral’s West Doors in aid of charity.
This year's event will take place over three days; Saturday 1st, Tuesday 4th and Saturday 8th August. The Abseil will take place on the two Saturdays from 8am to 6.30pm & 7.30pm respectively. The two Saturdays quickly booked up so an extra date was added, Tuesday 4th August from 1.30pm to 7.30pm. There are two ropes and there will be two people going down them every 6 minutes all day.
This year’s participants in the abseil include those raising money for The Big Help project, Zoe's Place Baby Hospice, Children's Society, Nugent Care, Everton in the Community, Freshfield Animal rescue, Alzheimers Society, Teenage Cancer Trust, Mencap Liverpool, Animal Aid, St Luke’s hospice, Jospice, Alder Hey Hospital, Roy Castle Foundation, Ron McDonald House, Parkinsons NW, Royal hospice St John's, Stroke Association and Maggie's Centre. A number of local clergy will also be abseiling in aid of their churches.
Spectators and friends and family will be very welcome in what always turns out to be a fun filled day and incredible atmosphere.
