Visiting Liverpool Cathedral from January 12th

Visiting
-

From 12 January 2021, we are closing our building for public worship and private prayer until further notice. We have been unable to welcome visitors into Liverpool Cathedral following Liverpool City Region Tier 3 status on 31 December.

The decision to close our building for public worship and private prayer until further notice has been extremely difficult. It has been reached in line with the Government request to stay at home. While we understand how important gathering together for worship and prayer in a sacred building is for spiritual and mental health, we no longer believe that it is safe to continue to do so. Not only do we have a duty of care to our staff, volunteers, the Cathedral Company and the public. We also must protect the NHS, especially since the COVID-19 infection rates in the Liverpool City Region are rapidly increasing.
