Liverpool Cathedral will launch the Liturgy and Music Foundation on October 15th at 12pm.

The launch will include the opportunity to hear from our Honorary President and listen to our magnificent organ with the Festival Evensong and Organ Recital.

We are also delighted to announce that globally celebrated choral composer Will Todd is to be the Honorary President of LAMF.

Will is described by Church Times as a composer who “has certainly made his mark among recent fusions of sacred traditional choral and jazz music”, while Classic FM called his work “beautifully melodic and touching pieces for calm, reflective moments.” He has worked with many of the UK’s leading music companies including Welsh National Opera, Opera North, and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Director of Music Stephen Mannings said “It is great that Will has agreed to be the President of LAMF. He brings a wealth of knowledge of contemporary and historical church music and passion for developing the talent of future generations. He will be participating in the launch with a key-note speech which addresses his passions for all we do musically”.

Will said on his Presidency: “I’m honoured to be making this connection with the music and outreach at Liverpool Cathedral. In particular, making youth singing opportunities accessible to the wide and diverse reaches of the community is something I whole-heartedly believe in.”
