The Liverpool Passion Plays – This is Our Story
The Liverpool Passion Plays are back!
Join us on Monday 11 April for the return of the Liverpool Passion Plays.
The Liverpool Passion Plays tells the story of the last supper, as well as Jesus' arrest, trial and crucifixion.
Using the Cathedral’s architecture and artwork as a backdrop, the audience will ‘walk with Jesus’ through his story, starting as a young boy, and witnessing his entry into Jerusalem, his betrayal by Judas, and his trial and crucifixion.
The performance will move West to East in the Cathedral, stopping at different locations as each scene unfolds. All will travel back to the Central space to witness the crucifixion that will take place on the Nave Bridge.
The performance combines music, script and liturgy to demonstrate what Christ's suffering and resurrection means for us today. The five acts have been put together by the cast, crew and musicians who are volunteers from the congregation, cathedral choirs and the public.
The play starts at 6:30 pm and will finish at 8:30 pm
Entry is free but we welcome your donations to support our choir tour fund.
