Join us for a special day of prayer and quiet reflection led by Revd Dr Sally Harper and Liz Shields, inspired by Jacqui Parkinson’s extraordinary exhibition, Threads Through the Bible.
‘Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.’ (Psalm 37:7)
This contemplative day offers the chance to engage deeply with the three sections of the exhibition—Creation, the Cross, and Revelation. Through guided reflections, personal time for prayer, and optional sharing, you’ll be invited to pause, reflect, and respond to the sacred stories beautifully stitched into Jacqui Parkinson’s work.
The day will include:
- A short opening liturgy
- Three guided reflections
- Time for personal reflection
- A closing reflection
- An opportunity to attend Evensong at 3:00 pm
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, starting at 10:00 am. Please bring your own lunch or enjoy a meal at the Cathedral’s Welsford Bistro.
Places are limited, so early booking is essential. Reserve your spot here via Eventbrite.
We look forward to welcoming you to this peaceful and enriching day.
About Jacqui
Jacqui was born in Manchester, lived for most of her adult life in London until 2008, and now lives in Devon. She set up the Lantern Arts Centre in Wimbledon and taught drama in Kingston. The action-packed storytelling and large visual impact of immense sets can still be seen in her textiles.
Jacqui now principally works in textiles – on a large scale suitable for cathedrals and other large spaces – and she is always open for changes in direction!
