SUMMARY:Eucharist (BCP)
DESCRIPTION:A simple service of holy communion using the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) \nAll are welcome to join us at Liverpool Cathedral for this Eucharist service. \nThe Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is the classic service book of the Anglican Church. Its first edition was published in 1549 and\, after revisions in 1552\, 1559\, 1604 and 1637 it arrived in its standard form in 1662. It helped establish the balance between the Catholic and Reformed elements of Anglican theology and doctrine. For over three hundred years\, almost every service in Anglican churches around the world used the Prayer Book and it remains in use in many churches even today. \nThe Prayer Book is most loved for the rich beauty of its language which sounds grand and poetic in almost every sentence. It has nurtured the faith of millions and is a great treasure of the church. Every Friday\, at 12:05pm\, we have a service of Holy Communion according to the Prayer Book’s order. We use the collects in their original form and the sequence of readings is from the King James Bible. There are a few (authorised) variations from the standard text. Devotees of the Prayer Book will recognise what we mean by using the summary of the law in place of the commandments at the beginning of the service. Otherwise it is pure 1662. Normally there is no sermon. \nWould you like to find out what happens in Eucharist\, and why it is important in the Christian faith? Head to our Services page. \n  \nDigital Giving\nIf you’d like to consider giving online instead of cash or envelopes on the collection plate\, you can find out more here. \nLiverpool Cathedral is a registered charity no 1205970

SUMMARY:Rainbow Trust service
DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Trust’s much-loved Carol Concert is coming to Liverpool for the very first time as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations.\n\nFor four decades\, Rainbow Trust has been supporting families with a seriously ill child through some of life’s toughest moments. This milestone year gives us the chance to reflect on that impact and celebrate the incredible community that has helped make it possible.\n\nAs candlelight glows through the Lady Chapel and the sound of a live choir fills the space\, you’ll be immersed in the warmth and wonder of the festive season. Expect a moving programme of traditional carols\, festive performances and special readings\, all brought together in one of Liverpool’s most iconic settings.\n\nUpon arrival\, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie as you take in the atmosphere and share in the spirit of the evening with fellow supporters\, friends and family.\n\nMore than a festive concert\, this event is a chance to come together and make a real difference. Every ticket helps Rainbow Trust continue providing practical and emotional support to families with seriously ill children across the UK.\n\nWe’re delighted to bring this special event to Liverpool for the first time and hope you’ll join us in celebrating 40 years of Rainbow Trust. Buy your tickets now.
