As we have mentioned before the Diocese of Liverpool and Liverpool Cathedral safeguarding practices are being audited by an organisation called INEQE. As part of this audit they are asking everyone who ministers, works and worships in our diocese for their views on safeguarding.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and your voice matters so please take the ten or fifteen minutes it takes to complete the survey. There are different surveys to complete depending on your connection to the diocese or cathedral. You can check the INEQE website below to see which survey most applies to you. And if you connect with more than one category, then do feel free to complete more than one survey.
As well as completing a survey for yourself then do encourage others. We want to hear our young people’s voices so if you know of those under 18 then do point them in the direction of the survey for them. Also, we are keen to hear the voice of any survivor or victim. We know that completing this may be difficult however your voice is equally important.
You can access and complete the INEQE surveys here.
The deadline to complete this is 11:30pm on 9th January 2026 but we would recommend completing it as soon as possible.
INEQE Safeguarding Group are one of the country’s leading safeguarding organisations and are independent from the Church of England. They have been commissioned by the Church of England to conduct this audit of all dioceses and cathedrals. INEQE will be visiting the Diocese of Liverpool in March 2026.

Thank you for taking some time to take part in this survey. As we continue to make our churches safe and welcoming places it is important to get this right as we all take responsibility for safeguarding.
