Update: Fire Incident at Liverpool Cathedral

A spokesperson for Liverpool Cathedral said:

We are aware of the recent fire at our site and apologise for any concern or disruption this incident may have caused. We are cooperating with the relevant authorities as investigations are carried out to determine the cause of the incident. The Cathedral is now closed for today.

We would like to sincerely thank the fire and rescue service for their swift response and support, which has been invaluable.

We are expected to be open as normal tomorrow. However, the tower will remain closed.

How to find us

We are about a thirty-minute walk from most central Liverpool locations including Lime Street and Central railway stations and our main bus terminals.

Talking about buses, routes 82, 82A and 86 stop nearby. And if you like the hop on hop off city tours then you can include our Cathedral on your route.

We have buses stopping near the Cathedral every 12 minutes or so – it’s an easy way to get to us. For more details and timetables visit the Merseytravel website.
