Brew Monday – A Time to Connect and Care

Welcome > News > Brew Monday – A Time to Connect and Care
Posted on January 20, 2025

This Monday, 20 January, we’re joining Samaritans in celebrating Brew Monday, a heartwarming reminder that a simple cuppa and a catch-up can make all the difference.

While the idea of ‘Blue Monday’ – the so-called saddest day of the year – has taken root in our culture, Samaritans remind us that feelings of low mood or isolation aren’t confined to just one day in January. Instead, they’re encouraging us to turn the blue into a brew and create meaningful moments with those around us.

Here at Liverpool Cathedral, we understand the importance of community and connection. Whether it’s over a steaming mug of tea or a quick coffee break, sharing a moment with someone can brighten their day – and yours too. Taking the time to listen, share, and simply be present reminds us of the power of compassion and support.

How You Can Take Part

This Brew Monday, we invite you to:

  • Pause for a Brew: Invite a friend, family member, or colleague for a hot drink and a chat.
  • Be Present: Truly listen and show kindness—it’s not about solving problems, but about sharing moments.
  • Reach Out: If you know someone who might be feeling lonely or overwhelmed, a small gesture can mean a lot.

Join Us

At Liverpool Cathedral, we’re all about creating spaces for reflection, connection, and care. Whether you’re visiting our Welsford Bistro, lighting a candle, or simply sitting in silence, you’re always welcome here.

This Brew Monday, let’s embrace the warmth of a cuppa and the comfort of conversation. Together, we can remind one another that support and kindness are always in season.

For more information about Samaritans and how to get involved, visit their website at samaritans.org.

Let’s raise a mug to Brew Monday and make someone’s day a little brighter.
