Cathedral Entrance Changes

Welcome > News > Cathedral Entrance Changes
Posted on October 8, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and building a stronger future for Liverpool Cathedral, we are preparing for the installation of our new Air Source Heat Pump. This exciting project will help us reduce our environmental impact and protect our magnificent building for generations to come.

During this phase of work, there will be some temporary changes to visitor access:

Monday 13 – Friday 17 October

  • Visitor Entrance: All visitors will enter via the Gilbert Scott Suite, which will serve as the main entrance for this period.
  • Accessible Entrance: Step-free access will also be through the Gilbert Scott Suite.
  • Accessible Parking: Reserved spaces will be available near the Scott Suite entrance.
  • Weekend Update (18–19 October): The Main Entrance and accessible entrance will reopen as normal. Accessible parking will return to the first car park (with slightly fewer bays than usual).

Monday 20 – Friday 24 October

  • The visitor entrance will again be via the Gilbert Scott Suite for all, with accessible entrance and reserved accessible parking in the same location.

Thank you for understanding – We look forward to welcoming you!
