Join us for this liturgy for Maundy Thursday led by our clergy and choir.
The final three days of Holy Week begin with a celebration of the eucharist, remembering the Last Supper, and Christ’s betrayal. The service finishes in silence, keeping Watch with the imprisoned Christ.
Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Washing of the Feet (Maundy) and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.
It is the fifth day of Holy Week, preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday. “Maundy” comes from the Latin word mandatum, or commandment, reflecting Jesus’ words “I give you a new commandment.”
This service gives you the opportunity to listen to some beautifully sung choral music, as well as time to relax, pray and reflect. You can find out more about this type of service here.
