The Diocese of Liverpool is seeking a highly experienced safeguarding professional to take on the senior leadership role of Head of Safeguarding / Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
This is a diocese-wide role (not Cathedral-specific) with independent authority from the Diocesan Bishop and Cathedral Dean, providing strategic leadership, professional oversight and management of safeguarding for children, young people and vulnerable adults across the Diocese.
You will:

Lead the diocesan safeguarding strategy and culture

Manage complex safeguarding casework and risk

Oversee compliance with national safeguarding standards

Lead and support a dedicated safeguarding team

Work closely with clergy, senior leaders and statutory agencies
This is a senior post within diocesan leadership, reporting to the Diocesan Secretary and contributing to the Diocese’s commitment to survivor-centred safeguarding practice.
Tenor Choral Scholarships for Spring and Summer terms in 2026
Liverpool Cathedral are inviting applications for two positions of tenor Choral Scholar to join our music team. These roles are ideal for outstanding gap year, undergraduate or post graduate students as our Choral Scholarship programme is mainly funded by teh Francis Neilson Trust (our fund for furthering the musical development of choristers and former choristers during their childhood and early adult years). However, all applications will be considered equally.
The appointments are for a fixed period from January 2026 to August 2026.
