Liverpool Cathedral is inviting applications for six Choral Scholar positions (2x Alto, 2x Tenor, 2x Bass) to join our vibrant music department from September 2026 – August 2027.
This exciting opportunity is perfect for outstanding gap year, undergraduate, or postgraduate students, though all applications are welcome.

As a Choral Scholar, you’ll:

Sing a wide-ranging repertoire, from Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary works

Join in termly concerts and special performances across the Cathedral, Diocese, and beyond

Collaborate with other choirs, including Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral, and Chester Cathedral

Support our outreach programme and take part in exciting commissions and new works

We’re looking for a passionate musician and inspiring teacher to join our Schools Singing Programme as a Schools Singing Leader (SSL).
This role involves leading weekly singing workshops in primary schools, working with one of our borough-based Junior Choirs, and supporting chorister recruitment at Liverpool Cathedral.
If you have experience teaching singing to groups of children, a love of music, and the drive to nurture young talent across our Diocese, we’d love to hear from you.
