Project Officer

We’re looking for a passionate and organised individual to join the Diocese of Liverpool team as our Project Officer. In this role, you’ll support churches and parishes through their Mission Planning and Review (MPR) journey — a vital part of our diocesan strategy to become missionally healthy and financially sustainable.

You’ll also take the lead on administering our Funding the Future (FtF) grants – helping local congregations bring their mission plans to life.

From working closely with our Parish Support Teams to managing national online tools like Cornerstone, this is a dynamic role at the heart of meaningful change.

Schools Singing Leader

Join our vibrant Choral Outreach team at Liverpool Cathedral! We’re looking for a Schools Singing Leader (SSL) to deliver inspiring weekly singing workshops in primary schools and lead one of our borough-based Junior Choirs.

You’ll be a confident musician with experience leading singing sessions for children and have the enthusiasm to develop young voices across the Diocese of Liverpool.

10 hours per week. Piano skills essential.
You’ll play a key role in nurturing talent, expanding awareness of the Cathedral’s musical heritage, and supporting the recruitment of future choristers.

Based across the Diocese

Cathedral Safeguarding Officer

Liverpool Cathedral is seeking a dedicated Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) to lead and oversee our safeguarding responsibilities in line with the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Standards.

As CSO, you’ll work closely with the Dean, Chapter, clergy, staff and diocesan teams to strengthen safeguarding culture, ensure policy compliance, lead training and development, and respond effectively to concerns or allegations.

This vital role includes:

  • Leading safeguarding culture and best practice
  • Coordinating policy implementation and training
  • Managing safeguarding casework
  • Supporting victims and survivors with care and integrity
  • Engaging in reflective learning and professional development

You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our Cathedral remains a safe, welcoming and accountable place for all.

Schools Singing Leader

The Schools Singing Leader (SSL) will work on the Liverpool Cathedral Schools Singing Programme under the guidance and strategic vision of the Choral Outreach Lead and the Director of Music. The SSL will deliver weekly singing workshops for 10 hours per week in primary schools and will lead or work weekly with one of our borough-based Junior Choirs. The SSL will also play a part in the annual recruitment of new choristers to the Cathedral Choir.

The post-holder will be an impressive musician with a proven track record of teaching music (singing in particular) to groups of 15+ children in and/or outside the school setting. Through the Schools Singing Programme and the Junior Choir they work with, the SSL will develop music within the Diocese of Liverpool, inspiring and nurturing potential in young people, all the while increasing awareness of Liverpool Cathedral and its musical tradition.
