We are thrilled to announce the installation of our newest art project, ‘Threaded Together,’ at Liverpool Cathedral! This magnificent, multi-craft, stitched artwork and prayer pathway is now proudly displayed in the entrance aisle of the Cathedral, opposite the Mothers’ Union Embroidery.
‘Threaded Together’ is the culmination of 2 ¼ years of meticulous planning, pattern creation, and construction. A remarkable team of 56 volunteer stitchers, all connected to the Cathedral, devoted several thousands of hours to bring this project to life. The final assembly alone required 300 stitcher hours, showcasing the dedication and craftsmanship poured into every detail. Crafted with fabric, yarn, and thread, and accented with a few beads, ‘Threaded Together’ is a vibrant and intricate work of art – and to clarify, it is not a tapestry!
We invite you to join us in celebrating this beautiful creation. Bishop John will be blessing ‘Threaded Together’ during the 3 pm service this Sunday, 21st July. This special event is an opportunity to witness the Cathedral community’s creativity and faith come together in a tangible, inspiring way.
