Excitement Builds as Liverpool Cathedral Choristers Head to Cologne!

We are thrilled to announce that the Choristers of Liverpool Cathedral, alongside their counterparts from Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, are about to embark on an incredible musical adventure to Cologne! This eagerly anticipated tour marks the next chapter in a rich and historic partnership between Liverpool and Cologne, and we couldn’t be more excited.

A Journey Rooted in History

The bond between our cities began over a century ago, in 1908 when a group of 70 people from Cologne visited Liverpool to study the construction of our magnificent Cathedral. This was the first step in what would become a great partnership, uniting our cities in friendship, faith, and of course music.

Now, over 100 years later, our Choristers are preparing to carry on this legacy by bringing their voices to one of Europe’s most iconic cathedrals—Cologne Cathedral! As they perform alongside choirs from Cologne, they will be adding to the rich tapestry of musical exchanges that have marked this unique relationship over the decades.

A Celebration of Music and Unity

Music has always been at the heart of our connection with Cologne. From unforgettable performances of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem in both cities to joint choir concerts that have celebrated everything from Epiphany in Cologne to Pentecost in Liverpool, this partnership has produced countless moments of musical magic.

This year’s tour promises to be another extraordinary chapter in that story. Our Choristers will join forces with Cologne’s renowned choirs for performances that will fill the stunning Cologne Cathedral with powerful, uplifting music—creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all involved.

An Exciting Milestone for Our Choristers

For our Choristers, this tour is more than just a chance to perform on an international stage—it’s an opportunity to be part of something truly special. They will be stepping into a tradition that has seen choirs from both Liverpool and Cologne come together to celebrate not only music, but the strong bond that unites our cities.

Follow the Journey!

Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, photos, and videos as we follow the Choristers on their exciting adventure. We’ll be sharing highlights from their performances, stories from their journey, and plenty of glimpses into the vibrant culture of Cologne.

We’re counting down the days until we can share this unforgettable experience with you all! Watch this space for more updates and cheer on our Choristers as they make their mark in Cologne!
