Cathedral shortlisted in the region’s prestigious tourism awards

We are delighted to have been shortlisted once again in the ‘Large Visitor Attraction’ category of the annual Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2023.

Liverpool Cathedral has been nominated several times for this award, following winning this important regional award scheme multiple times.

The Awards celebrate the success and achievements of businesses across the tourism and hospitality industry within the Liverpool City Region. This year there are 16 award categories, covering excellence in the tourism sector across the region

We are also excited to announce our Welsford Bistro has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Taste of Liverpool Award – Cafe/Bistro of the Year!

The Welsford Bistro, the independent restaurant located within Liverpool Cathedral launched in 2020.

The Welsford Bistro is run by manager Neil Blackhurst, known for Pistachio on Lark Lane, and chef Damien Flynn, former head chef at 60 hope street.  Starting as a mobile cart, ‘The mezze in the well’ serving  drinks and snacks during the covid restrictions, The Welford is now a high quality food option in the City – with a popular Scouse and Sunday Roast.

Well done to everyone who is a part of our Cathedral and Welsford Community on these amazing nominations!
