Liverpool Cathedral Visitor Information During LJMU Graduation Ceremonies (20–24 July 2026)

Liverpool Cathedral will be closed to general visitors from Monday 20 July to Friday 24 July 2026 while we proudly host Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) Graduation Ceremonies.

We appreciate your understanding as we celebrate this important milestone with thousands of graduates and their families.

Cathedral Opening Information

During this period:

  • The Main Cathedral will be closed to general visitors.
  • The Lady Chapel will remain open daily from 10.00am – 6.00pm for visitors and services.
  • The Cathedral Shop will be open for graduation guests only.
  • The Welsford Bistro will remain open, with access via the Welsford Porch.
  • There will be no public parking from 8.00pm on Sunday until 8.00pm on Friday.
  • Blue Badge parking is available for graduation guests only. Please notify The Lodge on arrival.

The Cathedral will reopen to visitors following the conclusion of the graduation ceremonies.

Everyone at Liverpool Cathedral would like to offer our warmest congratulations to every student graduating from Liverpool John Moores University.

Graduation marks the culmination of years of hard work, determination and perseverance, and we are honoured to host these special ceremonies in one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings.

We wish every graduate every success as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
