Save Our Sound: A Call to Action to Bring Clear Audio Back to Liverpool Cathedral!

Liverpool Cathedral is no stranger to big challenges—and big solutions. Over the years, we’ve been a beacon for worship, music, and community events. But right now, we’re facing a challenge that’s as pressing as it is surprising: our sound system has officially gone silent.
Our ageing soundboard has decided it’s had enough, and with it, the entire sound system has joined the strike. This leaves us unable to deliver the crystal-clear audio that makes our worship services, concerts, and events so special. From the uplifting harmonies of our choirs to the vital hearing loop that helps everyone feel included, sound is at the heart of what we do.

We’re asking for your help to raise the final £15,000 needed to complete the £180,000 project to restore and upgrade our sound system. Yes, this is an SOS—Save Our Sound!

Why It Matters: Sound Impacts Everyone
Without a functioning sound system, we’re faced with some serious challenges:
• Worship Services: Our 10:30 Sunday Service, a cornerstone of our community, is struggling to reach everyone.
• Inclusivity: Those who rely on the hearing loop or accessibility-friendly features are left out.
• Events and Concerts: From stunning choir performances to thought-provoking talks, we can’t deliver the experience our audiences deserve.

For now, we’ve moved most services to the Lady Chapel for its better acoustics. But this is only a temporary fix. We need your help to bring high-quality sound back to the heart of our Cathedral.
