Join us for an extraordinary day on July 21st as Liverpool Cathedral commemorates its 100th anniversary with two remarkable services that honour our rich history and look forward to a promising future.

Centenary of Consecration Eucharist

Date & Time: 21 July, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Begin the day with the Centenary of Consecration Eucharist, a significant service led by the Bishop of Liverpool. This Eucharist will revisit the music and rituals from the original consecration day, creating a bridge between our past and future. It’s a reflective and joyous celebration of the cathedral’s enduring spiritual significance over the last century.

The People’s Centenary Service

Date & Time: 21 July, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We warmly invite you to the People’s Centenary Service, a unique celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the consecration of Liverpool Cathedral in 1924. This special service is open to all and will feature a new anthem composed by the acclaimed Will Todd, commissioned specifically for this momentous occasion. It’s an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the spiritual journey of our beloved cathedral.

A Century of Liverpool Cathedral: Reflection and Celebration

The consecration of Liverpool Cathedral was a historic event attended by King George and Queen Mary, highlighting its national significance. Over the past 100 years, our cathedral has stood as a beacon of faith, a place of solace, and a community hub for countless individuals.

From traditional ceremonies to artistic exhibitions, Liverpool Cathedral has been a canvas for spiritual and cultural expressions. It has hosted grand celebrations, solemn reflections, and innovative art installations that have enriched our community and bridged the gap between the divine and the creative.

Looking Forward

As we celebrate this centenary, we are filled with gratitude for our past and excitement for our future. Liverpool Cathedral will continue to be a place of spiritual enrichment, community engagement, and cultural dialogue. Our doors remain open, welcoming everyone to experience the grandeur, solace, and inspiration that our sacred space offers.

Join us on July 21st to honour 100 years of spiritual resonance, community warmth, and cultural significance at Liverpool Cathedral. Be part of our ongoing journey as we embrace the next chapter of this iconic landmark.
