Introduction from Dean Sue
2024 was a truly special year in the life of Liverpool Cathedral, marking 100 years since our consecration and offering a moment to reflect on the journey that brought us here. As we celebrated our centenary, we honoured those who came before us—whose vision and dedication have enabled us to be a place where faith, art, culture and community converge.
From the powerful People’s Service in July to remarkable highlights like the Anish Kapoor exhibition, the Scott Season, Handel’s Messiah, and the return of The Light Before Christmas, our centenary year was rich in meaning, beauty and connection. Once again, we welcomed thousands through our doors during Advent and Christmas, reaffirming our role as a spiritual heart of the city.
Our annual review captures these moments and so much more. It offers a glimpse into the worship, events, outreach, and partnerships that made 2024 unforgettable. None of this would be possible without the hard work of our dedicated staff and volunteers, the generosity of donors, and the continued support from our friends across Liverpool and beyond.
We invite you to explore the full Annual Review and celebrate with us a year that truly embodied what it means to be the People’s Cathedral—built by the people, for the people, to the Glory of God.
